A couple years ago, I read a wonderful book, This Is Your Brain On Music, written by Daniel J. Levitin, a former producer and now teaching at McGill. His book is available at Amazon and is definitely a must-read for musicians and music lovers. It ranks right up there with Music, The Brain and Ecstacy.

More about that one later, because I wanted to clue you in the fact that last year, the good Dr. Levitin wrote a series of articles for NewScientist on “the music illusion.” And here, from that series, are “five great auditory illusions.”
This is good stuff and we have a lot of musicians and music lovers right here in Mojoland -so let me just say this article is worth the read and the examples are well worth the listen.
