Aim Higher.

One of the best ways to be successful in this economy is to not limit yourself to what you think your business does -but to open yourself to all that your business might do.

Case in point; Eastern Floral in Grand Rapids, Michigan expanded into a part of town that some might consider the wrong side of the tracks. The company moved into and began refurbishing an old furniture factory. Owner and President Bing Goei set aside 10,000 sq. ft. as incubation space for women- and minority-owned businesses. In addition, he installed an art gallery, and a showroom that doubles as space for conferences, special events or wedding receptions.  Goei also plans to add an on-site caterer.

Imagine that –a florist who can provide the decorations for your event, the space in which to hold the event -and the food as well. Probably not what Bing thought of when he first entered the floral business!

Think of what you do as a skilled trade; think of yourself as a person with remarkable skills. Begin to market yourself and your services that way.
