Marketing Mojo gets a facelift

The Color...of Money!

Yeah! We’re starting to hear some murmurings about our overnight redesign and reformat, and believe me, it’s not something we did just because we were tired of the old paint job and type fonts. We are building up to perhaps the coolest and most memorable shift in our business ever. Give me a few more days and you’ll see all the results.

For now, please note that our popular “Guide to Marketing Mojo” course is now off the market -yep, it’s not here anymore -but everything else is still here, and still free for the taking. There’s a lot of good stuff to help your business prosper -still over 150 easy-reading articles and short videos crammed with idea after idea.

Okay. It’s the day before Thanksgiving, we have family coming in, I’ve got to pack up the pianos for a little concert tonight -but I’ll be back soon with some recession-busting help for your small business.

I’ll leave you with a some pertinent holiday advice: Sit at the kid’s table for as many years as possible.

My #1 Secret To Selling Any Product Or Service.

top secret fileWhen it comes to advertising, there’s a simple little trick that every good marketer or business owner knows and uses to get the best results every time.

And here it is:

Effective ad copy can sell just about anything.

Simple enough, I know. But how do you write effective ad copy?

It is much easier than you think. Fact is, even the best copywriters follow a very basic principle, followed by a very basic ad formula. I’m going to reveal both of these to you now.

Have you ever heard of the term AIDA? This is an acronym that stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action.

This sinple acronym drives every effective ad ever written. Here’s the Mojo:

1. You grab their “Attention” with an interesting or provocative headline.

2. You maintain and create more “Interest” with copy that supports your headline.

3. You create a “Desire” for the prospect to want to know more, take a test drive, buy now -whatever action you want them to take.

4. When the first three fall into place, a prospect will take the desire “Action” to submit their info, order your product, book your services or sign up for your newsletter.

When you have on your copywriting hat, do what I do; plug that principle into this tried-and-true formula. You’ll have ad copy that does a great job motivating your prospects into taking the action you want them to take.

Headline -this is the “Attention” grabber.

Body copy
-here is where you maintain “Interest” and create a “Desire” for the prospect to want to take your desired “Action.”

Sales link -this is your desired “Action.” Here they will subscribe to your newsletter, buy your product, call you to make an appointment, or contact you for more details.

Signature and contact info -brand yourself with your signature (name. logo, slogan), and  provide contact information; tell people how you want them to respond!

And that’s it. Follow those steps and you can write an effective ad for virtually any product or service.

"Tie up the alligator, Ethel. We're a'headed for the Big Easy."

We have the enviable task of currently being in New Orleans to shoot some video for both our Guide to Marketing Mojo and a few new Mojo Marketing Minutes. You’ll see the latter right here at some time in the near future; and you’ll be able to catch the former by signing up right here.

Of course, the fact that our location shooting schedule coincides with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival -perhaps the funkiest, grooviest, funnest music fest in the country -is just a happy coincidence. Also just by coincidence, I have a number of musician friends here and no doubt will be sitting in and playing a little piano now and again. It’s definitely serendipity that that we’re here and will get a chance to meet some of the cast & characters from the hot new HBO series, Treme.

We’ll try to do an update shortly but there’s a lot to keep me distracted. You know how it is.
