This worm is cute. The Conficker worm is not so cute.

This worm is cute. The Conficker worm is not so cute.

Conficker is considered to be one of the nastier worms to hit the Internet in quite a while…and it’s starting to go to work. It’s downloading updates, which analyists suspect to be keyloggers or other code that’s designed to steal info from infected machines.

To see if your computer is infected with Conficker, go here: www.TalkBiz.com/confickertest

Very simple test. Load the page and see if you get all six pictures. If you do, chances are you’re safe and sound. The explanation is very short, and is included on this page, which was put together by my friend Paul Myers, publisher of TalkBiz News. Thanks, Paul.

Oh -and feel free to pass that URL around to everyone, too. The more people know if their systems are infected, the better it is.

Part of our mission is tickling you

Lordy. Ain't that beautiful.

Lordy. Ain't that beautiful.

Besides keeping the alligators at bay, stuffing you with gumbo, red beans & rice and making certain there’s enough cold Abitaaaaahhhh on hand for everyone -a big part of our job here in Doc’s Swamp School o’ Mojo is teaching you stuff that’ll help your business succeed.

One thing I think is essential to every business owner nowadays, regardless of the size of your biz, is to have at least one daily chuckle -if not a full and satisfying belly laugh. It’s grim out there. We need something to take our mind off the worldly woes and get things in perspective. What better way than copping a good laugh?

Which is why I occasionally post something that I think is funny. ’cause I want you to get your grin on, too.

Besides that -if you take a second look at the funny stuff here, the common thread is they’re all very clever marketing ideas. Like that bit about the Stonyfield yogurt container lids yesterday, or the guitar outlet storefront, or the business cards we talked about in a previous post.

You won’t forget that guitar store for awhile, will you?

Didn’t think so. See? Whoever thought that up knew their Mojo. For better or worse, that store is branded into your brain.

And that’s what I want
you to start doing; thinking about better ways to get your point, your price, your product, your service, your image, or your entire business branded in the minds of your tribe members.

And for that matter, to get new members to your tribe, too!

To that end, we’ll keep throwing a funny bone at you once in awhile.

And if you’ve spotted something that tickles your marketing fancy -share it with us, will ya? Particularly if it’s one of YOUR good ideas!

Thanks.

The first step is the hardest.

Hey Lordy Mama! For some reason, my normally facile fingers and the ever-ready Opinion Machine known as my mouth have had to be reluctantly dragged to this tiny cabin out in the swamps of Michigan to sit down and get opinionating, speculating and calculating.

Be that as it may, we’re here now. And we’ll start things off slowly. We have a plan for y’all but we’re not quite ready to reveal everything…yet.

This site is about Mojo. Not so much the charms, roots and herbs of legend, but rather the acquisition of knowledge that leads to personal enlightenment and success in your life, in your business.

We’ll show you some good stuff to emulate. We’ll show you some bad Mojo to avoid.

And we’ll have a good time along the way. Dancin’ in the kitchen, dancin’ in the halls -I garrontee it.

First thing to do -see that little box up on the right corner that says “Get Your Mojo By Email?” Pop your address into that and we’ll automatically update you in the evenings that something’s new here. If you’re an old friend, you know we don’t sell or trade your address and while Spam might be a guilty pleasure in the Mojo Kitchen, we’ll never ever send it to you.
