Is this small town building unique? You betcha!

Tonight, we’re playing in DuBois, PA, and then tomorrow night, we’re set to play a gig at the Court Street Grill -a fine juke joint and “Southeastern Ohio’s Home of the Blues” -in downtown Pomeroy, Ohio.

At any rate, I looked up Pomeroy before we hit the road and was tickled to note they’ve got not one but two Unique Selling Propositions. Like me, you may not have heard of Pomeroy before, but this little town may be the only burg in the U.S. that’s mentioned twice in Ripley’s “Believe It Or Not.” They got the first hit for their three-story County Courthouse, which, due to the extremely hilly topography, is the only such building in the U.S. that boasts a ground-level entrance on every floor.

More interesting -to me at least -they’re the only community in the country that does not have a single four-way intersection. See that one for yourself. Me, I can’t wait to see it in person.

Yep, these distinctions may be small things in the grand scheme -but still, they are unique and somewhat remarkable. Enough so that I’m hoping we can get to Pomeroy early enough so I can walk down and check out the Courthouse for myself. Heck, if we were even driving through the area and not planning to visit, I’d probably make a little detour over Pomeroy way to scope it out in person and maybe have a beer at the Court Street Grill.

Remember, Mojonators, that when you’re promoting yourself -regardless of the size or scope of your business -every little advantage helps.

See you in Pomeroy?

    Steve,

I had no idea you could play the piano and like that. WOW! That’s fun and impressive. I LOVE that old jazz blues style!

Thank you, Michael! I’ve played since I was five years young -that’s a mighty long time.

And thanks for stopping by. Good to see you again.
